Group Strategy Director

About the Position

Rokkan is looking for a Group Strategy Director who will be the strategic heavyweight on a luxury automotive account for which Rokkan serves as the lead AOR.

In the frontline of our ‘growth-first thinking’, strategists at Rokkan are expected to dig deep, surface the hard questions and accelerate the development of hypotheses for the benefit of teams. They’re the ultimate distillers and simplifiers with challenges that can sit at 50,000 feet for big brand problems, or dive into the sensitive nuances of go-to-market systems. Whatever it takes to make a client’s investment move on the right tracks and expand in a sustainable way. Analogies, data, patterns, past mistakes… These are your source of creativity, confidence and tenacity.

Responsibilities
  • Create full campaigns, launch programs and communications plans for integrated efforts throughout the year, as well as incisive creative briefs for a wide range of smaller, concurrent assignments;
  • Serve as trusted advisor and collaborator for the client’s internal leaders and external agencies;
  • Collaborate closely with the Rokkan creative team to shape the next chapters of the client’s brand platform;
  • Elevate the brand’s vision and maintain its purpose in a complex, fast-moving and attitude-rich business;
  • Build targeting and communications approaches that lift relevance and appeal across a wide range of audiences, especially to influence affluent millennials;
  • Collaborate with global regions for select research, rollouts and cross-region activations;
  • Partner with account leads at Rokkan to guide our most senior clients to bold, innovative creative solutions;
  • Regularly assess the market, category, audiences and channel trends to keep the client two steps ahead;
  • Demonstrate a hunger for account growth – by delivering rock-solid work and for finding new pathways for client-agency interaction.
Requirements
  • Luxury and automotive experience, especially working with luxury/premium brands aimed at millennials;
  • A minimum of 8–10 years experience in an integrated agency setting;
  • Gravitas: A highly skilled presenter and storyteller who can both command a room and improvise; ultimately a person who is influential with senior level clients and complex organizations to build/shift brands;
  • Firmly grounded in brand planning, engagement planning, and integrated communications;
  • Ability to work alongside data analysts to uncover actionable insights, trends and optimizations;
  • Comfortable in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary creative environment;
  • Proven contribution to award winning work;
  • Team leadership experience. Must be able to set a professional example, nurture talent on the fly, and coordinate a wide range of resources on a daily basis;
  • Proven management abilities to coordinate multiple initiatives across multiple accounts.
